The most common and has excellent qualities undersized horse, which has been actively bred in the 19th century on the territory of South Africa. This breed is not of local origin, but rather loved by all the inhabitants of the region. Local residents often use these small horses in warfare. Despite the slight increase, Basotho looks more like a low horses rather than ponies.

Adults Basotho grow about 1.4 meters. Building a strong body, large head, back and shoulders straight. It is taking place in the most hard-to- reach areas, thanks to the large limbs and hard hoof.
