Carnation has been around for several thousand years. The carnation flower family, there are more than 250 species. They are both annual and perennial. For decorative gardens use less than a tenth of all.
Basically cloves are grown for cut-off for sale. Therefore, it is most often grown in special greenhouses indoors. But there are some species that are not afraid of open ground, for example – Carnation Chabot.
Dutch form of clove is one of the first places among the garden carnations, its flowers reach about 12 centimeters in diameter. It has different colors: scarlet carnation, pink, red, white, yellow and mottled – which is a favorite among many gardeners.
For amateur gardeners carnation grown at home almost not suitable.
