When you have a cottage, garden and orchard, really want to have more and fresh egg just laid by the hen. This egg is for me a real vitamin, I immediately feel a surge of power, drinking it raw and warm. Such eggs are chicken to me from May until the autumn. The yolks are bright yellow and the taste is magnificent. But the care and costs are minimal. I’ll tell you how I did it.

In the spring, in April, I buy on the market grown hens, at the age of 6-9 months. Immediately I’m taking them to the country and put in a pre-built fence of mesh netting, with a roof of a cipher.
I buy on the market feed for chickens and laying hens to pour in boxes designed for eating my chickens. Well, if crates are narrow and fixed to bird feeders turned and rowing in them. In terms of capacity is better to take a little more to feed and could fill a day, and sometimes several, if we have in the country. The greatest period for which I left food – a week. Well, plus various herbs, weeds growing in the garden. You come, and there is a surprise: chicken-laying hens gently pulled down to ten or even more eggs. But after buying eggs laying hens in the country are not immediately apparent. They need to acclimatize. But it takes at least two weeks, and for some, and a month, but no more.

Also I built a fence and backyard area – an area adjacent to the chicken coop, an area of 15 sq.m, fenced-mesh netting. I especially like it when the chickens are walking all over the house, and it is better in the garden. There they find themselves extra feed. Later, I was just the wheat and small rakushnik, and no longer feed anything else they find in the garden and the garden. Also I give them kitchen scraps. But if your chickens graze only on the backyard area, power must be a full, ie feed for laying hens + micronutrient premixes. I have a free-range, and therefore costs less. I buy five layers, this is completely missing, and the beauty of the birds, walking freely in the garden, just fascinating. However, sometimes they can and naughty – peck cabbage, for example (they just love it), but I am not angry at them and simply plant the cabbage away.
