Description of the type of water spider, a characteristic picture
Water spider (spider-diver) – a small insect that lives under water. Breathe it through the pouch from the web, in which collects the air bubbles out of the water. Pouch quite durable, it does not give the air to escape. The spider ball insect puts food stocks. Amazing bag is water spiders shelter in times of danger. They live “divers” in almost all water bodies in North and Central Europe. At a sting water inhabitant there is a sharp pain, which can not take place within a few minutes.
The size of the body of water spider does not exceed fifteen millimeters. Body color – brown. Insect has eight legs (four on each side).
An interesting fact is that the spiders of this type are sensitive to air composition. If bubbles contain less oxygen than normal spider inspects “vault”, seeking damages on the walls of the spider bag. If oxygen is more than norm, the spider does not pay attention to it.
Scientists have noticed that females leave their eggs in these “vaults”. Therefore, we can say that for a spider-diver bag – not only private place, which houses the vital oxygen, food. This spider ball is also home to the insects of the breed.
