Dorper sheep breed were created specifically for survival in extremely hot conditions. Homeland animals considered to South Africa, where the 30-ies of the last century local farmers crossed Dorset Horn and the Blackhead Persian sheep. Due to its endurance in hot climates, Dorper sheep breed became popular in other continents.
Coat color can be pure white or black spots. Because of such different colors, two types of Dorper: conventional and white.
